A residential development that transforms a steep urban slope into a clearly structured, accessible housing complex through terrain-responsive architecture and rational circulation.
DEGMARNER 15–19 is a residential complex designed and realised in Oedheim, Germany. The project addresses one of the key challenges of contemporary urban development: the lack of available building land, increasingly requiring interventions on steep and demanding terrains.
The site is characterised by a pronounced slope with a total height difference of 12.5 metres. The architectural concept responds through three distinct building volumes—two with flat roofs and one combining flat and pitched roof forms—allowing the development to adapt to the terrain while maintaining clear spatial organisation.
The plot allows two access points: a lower vehicular entrance from Auweg and an upper entrance from Degmarnerstrasse. This results in dual garage access for vehicles, while pedestrian access is exclusively provided from Degmarnerstrasse, leading to a central outdoor space connected to three vertical circulation cores.
The site area is 3,210 m². The complex comprises 58 residential units, with 82 parking spaces in garages and 3 additional outdoor spaces. The total usable floor area amounts to 6,829.07 m².
